This page is specifically for PGCE students and will be updated throughout the year with information specific to PGCE students.
PGCE students at Homerton are represented by both the JCR and MCR and so are welcome to use the facilities and the events of both student unions.
If you have any questions about Homerton and Cambridge or want to express an opinion you can also contact both the JCR President, Francis Dearnley, and the, MCR President, Erica Irving (firstname.lastname@example.org).
The 2013 PGCE guide, courtesy of the JCR and MCR, is now available here. The guide contains information about all of the events planned for PGCE freshers’ week as well as lots of useful information you should know before coming to Homerton. If you’re thinking about applying for the PGCE at Homerton, this might also be a useful way to find out a little about student life at Cambridge.
There are currently three appointed PGCE representatives who will be working with the HUS this year. They are:
Kenichi Udagawa – email@example.com
Jessie Cross – firstname.lastname@example.org
Jess Thornton – email@example.com
All three completed their undergraduate degrees at Homerton and would be really happy to answer any questions you may have about coming to the college.
They will also be helping out during freshers’ week so if you come along to any of the events you will get the opportunity to ask them questions there. Their role will be to represent the views of PGCE students to the HUS to make sure that we know what we’re doing right and what we’re doing wrong.
If you would like to get involved with the HUS, we will be asking for applications for more PGCE reps during Michaelmas term so that students who have only just begun at Homerton can get involved.
